Midnight Protection Before Days Off

Member Issue

Instructors need protection from being scheduled past midnight into a vacation day or SDO.

Prevents Instructors from being scheduled to work past midnight before a vacation day or SDO.

Prevents Instructors from being scheduled past midnight into a vacation day or SDO when they are on reserve, unless there is no other legal FTI available for the assignment.

Prevents EPI from being mandatoried past midnight before a vacation day or RDO.

Allows the Instructor to waive the midnight scheduling protection.

Reserve Release Time

Member Issue

Reserve employees need clear and consistent release times so they know when they are free from assignment.

Requires reserve employees to be released no later than 12 hours prior to the start of their next scheduled shift.

Provides that reserve employees will be released no later than 1500 local time on the day prior to their next scheduled shift, whichever occurs earlier.

Establishes a clear and predictable release point so employees are not held on reserve unnecessarily.

Employees need clear expectations for how they are notified of schedule changes.

Requires employees to be contactable for schedule changes through Company-provided communication systems.

Allows schedule change notifications to be delivered through approved Company communication methods.

Establishes that employees are responsible for maintaining current contact information for scheduling purposes.

Mandatory overtime may be used when there are not enough qualified or available volunteers to meet operational needs.
